Recruiting: community members to lead conversations at Lambeth’s Night Time Strategy events!
Can you help shape Lambeth after dark? Lambeth Council are recruiting 10 people who live, work, and/or study in Lambeth to help us put on engagement events for our Night Time Strategy. This is a paid opportunity at £20/hr for a total of 14 hours of work.
What is Lambeth’s Night Time Strategy?
Our borough has a lot to offer at night, from arts and culture to sports, food, social meetups, and job opportunities. But we know that there are challenges meaning not everyone can access the things they want and need to do at night.
Lambeth’s Night Time Strategy will address these topics and set out a vision of how we can make our borough welcoming, safe, accessible and equitable for everyone between 6 pm and 6 am. We need input from Lambeth’s residents, workers and students to find out how we can do this.
The Role
As a Lambeth Night Connector, you will play a key role in making Lambeth Council’s engagement events successful. You will do this by leading conversations about Lambeth at night with groups of people at each event.
People who live, work, and/or study in the borough can apply, and previous work experience is not required. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply, as we want to recruit a group that is representative of Lambeth’s diverse communities. This opportunity is available to anyone aged 18 and older.
The work schedule covers a paid training session in August, 3 engagement events in August and September, and a workshop with Lambeth officers in November.

Background Information
This opportunity is available as part of the engagement programme for the upcoming Lambeth Night Time Strategy.
The strategy will set out Lambeth’s vision to make sure everyone who lives, works and visits the borough has access to fun and affordable activities, good working conditions, safe neighbourhoods and transport, and relevant services between 6 pm and 6 am.
The Night Time Strategy work is guided by the Lambeth 2030 ambitions to:
· Make Lambeth neighbourhoods fit for the future, with clean and climate-resilient neighbourhoods where people have healthier and happier lives
· Make Lambeth one of the safest boroughs in London, where everyone feels safe and secure
· Make Lambeth a place we can all call home, where everyone can grow up and age well, contribute to an inclusive economy and have a place to call home
The Lambeth Golden Thread of Equity and Justice runs through the centre of all our ambitions for the future – by 2030, we aim to be a fair and equitable borough, which seeks and delivers justice through all that we do.
