Lambeth Local Plan Scoping Consultation launch

Phase 1 now launched

Lambeth Council is preparing a new Local Plan to ensure it reflects changes in the planning system and supports the borough’s future growth and development.

Scoping Consultation

We are seeking your views on the future of Lambeth, and on the matters that the new Local Plan should address, and how you would like to be involved as the Plan develops.

Alongside the consultation, we have prepared a draft borough-wide Character Study, which divides Lambeth into distinct neighbourhoods and identifies the characteristics that make each area unique. The study provides a snapshot of Lambeth in 2026 and will help inform future development across the borough. Your feedback will help shape the evidence base, identify local priorities and inform the development of planning policy.

If you would like to learn more about the Local Plan, including what it can influence, how it is being prepared, and key milestones in the process, please read the Local Plan Scoping Document here: https://haveyoursay.lambeth.gov.uk/llpsupportingdocuments

The Council’s formal Notice of Scoping Consultation is available on the Lambeth website.

Physical copies of consultation materials can be viewed at any Lambeth library during normal opening hours, or at the Lambeth Civic Centre by appointment, by emailing planningpolicy@lambeth.gov.uk

The Scoping Consultation runs from 1 September to 13 October 2026, with a second phase of consultation planned for summer 2027.
