49 Brixton Station Road and 6 Canterbury Crescent

Following Cabinet approval on 8th February 2021, the council launched a competitive procurement process to secure a delivery partner that can deliver on its ambitions for 49 Brixton Station Road and 6 Canterbury Crescent (Pop Brixton and International House)  

After a competitive process, the Council selected London Square as its development partner, and it will work with the Council and the local community to develop the proposals for the sites which are expected to deliver new homes, workspace, street market infrastructure and public realm improvements that will benefit Brixton’s residents and businesses.    

Between September 2023 to December 2024, the Council reviewed the programme to understand the viability of project proposals which had been impacted by the economic conditions and changes to building regulations.  

In December 2024 Lambeth Council published decision papers outlining the proposed way forward for the delivery of the future scheme at 49 Brixton Station Road and 6 Canterbury Crescent.  

The decision has been finalised, and community engagement activities are expected to recommence in 2025. You can view the papers here
