Lambeth Prepares for Living Wage Week 2019
Living Wage Week will take place from Monday 11th November – Sunday 17th November 2019 to celebrate the Living Wage movement.
Living Wage Week sees the new Living Wage rates announced and events hosted across the country. Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and the Living Wage Foundation are holding an event on 12th November 2019 at London South Bank University from 5.30pm-7.30pm.
The event will include networking, speeches and employer awards presentations. Representatives from the Living Wage Foundation will discuss the proven benefits of businesses paying the Living Wage. Local businesses will also share their experiences of the becoming a Living Wage employer and how their employees have benefited from the rise in pay.

Lambeth is proud to be a London Living Wage employer, with all staff and 99 per cent of its contracts all paying the rate at a minimum.
The council are committed to encouraging businesses in the borough to also become accredited, and the council-owned International House became the UK’s first Living Wage Building in April 2019.
Lambeth are running a business rates rebate scheme to support local businesses who register with the Living Wage Foundation for the first time in the 2019/20 financial year. Businesses will receive a rebate equal in value to twice the registration cost. The scheme is capped, so interested businesses should apply soon to ensure they benefit
