Vauxhall Vauxhall

Vauxhall is London’s fastest changing riverside district and a fantastic place to live and work. Former light industrial spaces are welcoming art galleries and creative start-ups, and a new high rise cluster for London is reshaping the landscape from the ground up.

Vauxhall has a long history as a location for entertainment and culture, famous for the Victorian Pleasure Gardens, and now home to one of London’s foremost LGBT+ nightlife centres. A growing cluster of contemporary art galleries, including Damien Hirst’s award-winning Newport Street Gallery, sits next to iconic destinations such as Vauxhall City Farm and the Oval Cricket Ground. By day, Vauxhall is a place of work for many creative and digital businesses, charities and social impact businesses, government departments and embassies.

Now is a time of transformation. With ambitious development plans underway, Vauxhall will benefit from new commercial space to support 8,000 new jobs and 3,500 new homes. Infrastructure investment including the Northern Line Extension and a re-worked road network will help to create a new district town centre on the Thames.

TRANSFORMATION

  • NIGHT TIME ENTERPRISE ZONE

The Vauxhall Night Time Enterprise Zone, also known as #VauxhAllNight, brings footfall, activity and exciting events to one of London’s most dynamic 24-hour centres.

Vauxhall is well-known for its vibrant nightlife catering to the LGBTQ+ communities. The area offers a variety of entertainment options including unique Portuguese-speaking restaurants, art galleries, sports activities, live music, and comedy shows.

  • VAUXHALL, NINE ELMS, BATTERSEA OPPORTUNITY AREA

VNEB is one of the largest regeneration projects in London, covering 227 hectares across both Lambeth and Wandsworth. Apple HQ and the US Embassy will be amongst the new residents in the developments that are set to support the creation of 25,000 new jobs and more than 20,000 homes.

  • NEW DISTRICT TOWN CENTRE

Transport for London and Lambeth Council are collaborating to transform the current Vauxhall gyratory system into two-way roads. This initiative aims to enhance the safety and appeal of the area for pedestrians and cyclists. The proposed development includes a new high street at the heart of Vauxhall and a town square that can accommodate the growing population of residents, workers, and visitors.

  • NORTHERN LINE EXTENSION

The Northern Line Extension has added two new Underground stations, Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms, to the Northern Line from Kennington station. This £1 billion project is part of a larger investment in Vauxhall, Nine Elms, and Battersea, which includes 20,000 new homes, improved public spaces, and new facilities for the community, creating up to 25,000 jobs. Lambeth Council is a key partner in making this happen.

  • HIGH-RISE CLUSTER

Vauxhall is ushering in an exciting new era with its latest developments, including the stunning high-rise cluster comprising Keybridge House, Vauxhall Square, and 8 Albert Embankment. This ambitious project will provide over 3,500 new homes and 8,000 new jobs, offering unprecedented opportunities for growth and prosperity. Additionally, the ground floor will feature expansive retail space, bringing Vauxhall’s retail offerings to a quarter of that found on Oxford Street.
