Lambeth’s UKSPF projects
Lambeth’s UKSPF projects
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is part of the government’s agenda to support local economic growth activity and consists of three strands of activity: Supporting Local Business, Communities and Place, and People and Skills.
Lambeth’s allocation of UKSPF is delivering projects that align with the borough’s priority growth sector support, in turn supporting the delivery of Lambeth’s Growth Plan. The Growth Plan is a shared blueprint for delivering inclusive, sustainable growth across the borough over the next 10 years and the delivery of UKSPF in Lambeth will deliver against key missions. Through delivery of community night time events and Danceology, we will deliver against Lambeth’s Night Time Strategy and the Growth Plan ambition of offering affordable and free activation throughout the borough, often after 6pm. By providing small capital grants through the RE:Purpose programme we support our cultural organisations to be more accessible and successful, retaining vibrancy in our town centres. Projects that support local businesses, such as the Innovation Challenge, directly deliver against our mission to stimulate investment in growth sectors and projects focussed on employment and skills of residents in the borough also deliver against inclusive growth ambitions.
Danceology
Lambeth Council and Corali, are delivering a new project to celebrate the borough’s rich social dance history. On 8th March, the Day of Dance, Corali are hosting an event in Lambeth Town Hall, transforming it into a setting of participatory performance and bringing together the local community for a joyful, immersive celebration of social dance, community and movement across this iconic civic space. 80-100 attendees are expected to attend. Free tickets are available to book here.

RE:Purpose
RE:Purpose is Lambeth’s successful small capital grants programme to support organisations’ long-term sustainability, encouraging more visitors, more hires, increased access and inclusion, and creating and protecting jobs. 13 cultural and creative organisations across the borough, from Waterloo to Tulse Hill, have been awarded funding through this years RE:Purpose programme, with works being finalised in the coming month. Kennington Film Studios have completed their installation of LED lighting upgrades, in turn achieving a high reduction in energy demand. Rocket Leisure have also successfully completed improvement works at Venn Street Records, a popular night time venue in Clapham, installing parasols and heaters to ensure the space can be used year round and increase patronage.

Community Night Time Events
Six organisations were awarded funding to deliver community and cultural events in the evening and night time, as part of our Night Time Economy Strategy and Growth Plan ambitions to see more activation in our town centres after 6pm, and accessible access to culture. 22 community events have been delivered across these organisations, bringing in over 1,100 attendees. Events include support for night workers in Stockwell, an evening especially for Deaf residents, disabled and neurodiverse people, and those who often feel unseen or unsafe in mainstream night-time settings and an inclusive Halloween event.

Innovation Challenge
Lambeth Council and Sustainable Ventures are delivering a Lambeth Innovation Challenge and have partnered with pioneering startups to pilot solutions in three critical areas – commercial retrofit, housing repair and retrofit and food waste.
On 27th November 2025, a Lambeth Services Innovation Challenge Pitch Day was held at Lambeth Town Hall, where shortlisted innovators presented their solutions to Lambeth service teams. Attendees included nine innovators, Councillor Chowdhury Deputy Leader, and council officers from the Leisure team, Housing Voids and Responsive Repairs teams and the Waste team. From the pitch day, three service challenges were identified with several innovators to find cost savings solutions.
On Tuesday 17th March, Sustainable Ventures are hosting the Lambeth Innovation Challenge Showcase 2026, a demonstration of innovators and council service areas tackling the public sector’s toughest challenges. The event will see speakers from the GLA, Lambeth Council and funders in the sector, and include live demos, pilot results, networking and expert insights.

Parental Employment Support
Our parental employment support programme is delivering support to 16 parents, focusing on barrier removal and confidence building, with a number of participants already being supported to apply for jobs or educational opportunities. One participant is a single mother who was seeking support to get back into healthcare, and through the programme is exploring local GP practices and Primary Care Networks, as well as applying to a University to obtain a top-up degree. Another Spanish speaking participant had identified her low-level English as her main barrier to progressing into more secure work, and is using the programme to improve employment opportunities in returning to caring work. Whilst not yet applying for roles, a pathway is clearly defined with support throughout.

Lambeth’s UKSPF programme has already delivered a great number of outcomes for our local businesses and communities and we look forward to seeing what else the projects deliver.
- Councillor Marcia Cameron, Cabinet Member for Economic Inclusion said:
"The UK Shared Prosperity Fund has allowed Lambeth to make progress in driving economic growth for our local residents and businesses. In delivering against our 10 year Growth Plan, we have created new opportunities for people to get the skills they need to thrive in the modern economy. We have also been investing in Lambeth as a cultural destination, so that everyone here can be proud to call it home. There is a lot more to be done, but we are making huge strides."
