One of London’s largest affordable workspaces to open in Brixton

International House is an 11-storey office in Brixton managed by 3Space, specialists in meanwhile use and interim space activation.  They have turned International House into one of London’s largest affordable workspaces, which provides space for new and growing business, social enterprises and charities, with a focus on design, creativity and innovation.

3Space operates a ‘BuyGiveWork’ concept, which gives space away to social enterprises and community groups for every space paid for by commercial businesses.  There are a total of four ‘give away’ floors, including space for community groups and innovation, as well as art and design.  Brixton Pound, We Rise, Brixton Design Trail and Library of Things are just some of the local non-profits already signed up.  A dedicated Youth Entrepreneurship Hub is also set to open, with Business Launch Pad providing support for 16-30 year-olds wanting to start a business.

Turner Prize winners, Assemble, are set to open ‘The Fabric Floor’, a textile-focused studio working alongside Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion and other partners.  Other tenants to join include high-growth tech start-up Resi; Amazing Productions, and Capital Enterprise – the organisation behind some of London’s best start-up support and investment funds.

When fully occupied, the project will create space for 850 jobs in the heart of Brixton, which will help to support local businesses and supply chains and build the town’s creative industry network.

International House is part of Lambeth Council’s award winning programme of affordable workspace, Lambeth Works.
