Operator partner sought for STEM workspace in Brixton

Lambeth Council is looking for an experienced workspace operator for a public facing Science Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) focused workspace in the heart of Brixton, to be based within underused space in the grade II listed Brixton Recreation Centre.

The council will be launching an open competition process to find the right operator for this exciting project. Lambeth wants to see workspace concepts come forward which support science and tech related enterprise, whilst also making links to the council’s strategy to support creative and cultural growth within the newly designated Brixton Creative Enterprise Zone.

The project aims to:

  • Deliver affordable and inclusive workspace which supports early stage STEM businesses, including those in need of specialist space, to grow;
  • Create a public facing workspace which engages with the local area’s existing character and specialisms, and supports local people, and particularly young people, to gain knowledge and skills which unlock opportunities in STEM sectors;
  • Deliver a workspace-led project which attracts and nurtures the talents of black and minority ethnic (BAME) people and supports them to thrive in STEM sectors and through associated opportunities.

Use the link below to register your interest or book a viewing of the space. You will then receive an alert when the opportunity is launched.
