Rambert Works, a new creative co-working space on the Southbank

Dance company Rambert has opened the doors of Rambert Works, a new co-working desk space for the creative sector.

Developed in the lower floors of the company’s headquarters on the South Bank with funding help from Lambeth’s Future Workspace Fund, five minutes walk from Waterloo station and at the heart of our creative community, Rambert Works offers affordable and practical space for Lambeth’s young people, Lambeth’s community organisations and the wider dance and creative community.

It is open to local freelancers and small-scale creative organisations working in the area and those travelling through London, as well as performing companies hiring Rambert’s studios who require office spaces to work from alongside their use of Rambert’s studio facilities.

Rambert Works is a response to the high demand for affordable desk space for individuals and organisations working in the sector. It is the first space of its kind in London dedicated to the dance and wider creative community. Rates start at £4 per half day for hot desks and £20 per half day for the smaller meeting rooms, with a coffee machine available on a pay-what-you-can basis.

Rambert Works is a split-level working space, with room for 14 people on the ground floor including a quiet booth for Zooms / Teams, and another area for up to 16 people on the lower ground floor which can be booked as a meeting room. There are also two smaller meeting rooms available for hire which can accommodate two to three people or three to four people respectively.

Spaces can be booked in advance here and drop-in options are available on the day subject to availability.

  • Helen Shute, CEO Executive Producer of Rambert says: Rambert Works is central to our commitment to supporting brilliant people to push themselves and move the world forward, fostering a collaborative environment where local talent can connect, create, and inspire each other.

Conceived as a hybrid and open co-working space, Rambert’s vision is that, as well as being a practical solution for many, Rambert Works will function as an inspiring networking space where individual connections will be made and local partnerships can foster and develop.

The transformation of Rambert’s new workspace was brought to life by a thoughtful fit-out led by Soul Spaces. Their design seamlessly blends functionality with creativity, catering to the needs of artists, choreographers, and the wider community.

Rambert’s bespoke building sits at the heart of London’s creative community and brings under one roof four beautiful and fit-for-purpose dance studios, which are available for hire, Rambert’s office, a costume workshop, Rambert’s accredited archive, and now Rambert Works. Rambert’s studios also host the company’s public programme of classes and workshops for all ages and levels, from Coin Street’s nursery class to a daily open professional class, through to sessions specifically designed for people over 60.
