Sustainable Ventures is home to Europe’s largest support ecosystem for climate tech businesses, leading London’s shift towards a low-carbon economy.

Their development of 40,000+ sq. ft of space, which has been unused for nearly 40 years, will see the iconic County Hall become Sustainable Ventures’ HQ and flagship workspace. The workspace will support over 100 organisations, providing access to business support, investors and expertise across the sector, as well as opportunities to connect and collaborate with like-minded climate innovators.

£1.45 million of funding from the first round of the Future Workspace Fund, alongside £3.3 million from Big Issue Invest is allowing Sustainable Ventures to complete the fit out works of the site in full.

This commitment of investment has also allowed Sustainable Ventures to take space on the 3rd floor of County Hall whilst the 5th floor is developed, meaning that more than 50 pioneering businesses are already benefitting from this workspace. The 5th floor is expected to open in April 2023.

Stuart Ferguson, Investment Partner at Sustainable Ventures, said:

“Without this funding from the Future Workspace Fund, we would not have been able to undertake the development of our new workspace at County Hall.

It was fantastic that the Fund team was able to see past the short-term Covid challenges to collaborate on this project, which will result in the creation of one of Europe’s leading centres for climate change innovation.

The new workspace will help us support the best climate change focused entrepreneurs to scale their businesses, whilst creating jobs, training opportunities and inward investment into the Borough.”
