Building a Better South: Grant Funding Plans for Town Centre Improvements
We are excited to share a grant funding opportunity for projects in Streatham, Tulse Hill, and West Norwood.
Lambeth Council is seeking proposals for capital projects that will enhance town centres and contribute to the vibrancy of Lambeth’s diverse and locally rooted business and cultural landscape.
In alignment with the Lambeth 2030: Our Future, Our Lambeth plan, we are dedicated to creating resilient and ready neighbourhoods for the future. The challenges posed by Brexit, COVID-19, and their economic aftermath have intensified the trends of growing inequality across London. This funding will support strategic interventions to drive positive change in town centres south of the borough.
Lambeth Council has allocated £475,000 in grant funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Supported by the UK Government, the GLA and the Levelling Up Fund, this funding is earmarked for town centre improvements, and we invite project proposals aligned with one of the following UK Shared Prosperity Fund themes:
- Improvements to town centres and high streets
- Creation of and enhancements to local green spaces and community gardens
- Enhancement of existing cultural, historical, and heritage institutions
- Support for local arts, cultural, heritage, and creative activities
All project proposals must be deliverable by 31 March 2025. The application window is now open (clicking the link will automatically download the application Word file).
We encourage interested parties to submit their completed grant proposal forms to Enterprise@lambeth.gov.uk by 5 pm on Friday, January 19, 2024.
